Alissa M. Kleinnijenhuis is a Research Scholar at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) at Stanford University. She is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Institution of New Economics Thinking at the Oxford Martin School (INET), the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (OMI), and the Mathematical and Computational Finance (MCF) Group at the Mathematical Institute of University of Oxford. Her research focusses on systemic risk, financial regulation and climate finance. Dr. Kleinnijenhuis holds a BS from Utrecht University in Economics and Mathematics (cum laude), a MSc in Mathematics and Finance from the Imperial College London, and a DPhil (PhD) in Mathematical and Computational Finance (classified under Mathematics) from the University of Oxford. She has been a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the MIT Golub Centre for Finance and Policy (GCFP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Kleinnijenhuis has also been a Visiting Scholar at Yale University and the University of California Santa Barbara and has conducted research at Morgan Stanley and Allianz Global Investors. Dr. Kleinnijenhuis collaborates actively with both policymakers and practitioners. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Bank of England and is an Academic Consultant at the European Central Bank. She collaborates with researchers at Fidelity Investments, the International Monetary Fund, the Bank of International Settlements, and the South-African Reserve Bank.
