Eva (Yiwen) Zhang

Eva (Yiwen) Zhang is the research statistician and quality control coordinator at the Peterson Institute for International Economics ensuring that data and models flowing through the Institute meet rigorous standards of replicability. Her expertise is in econometric modeling, and she works on a variety of topics including cross-country capital flows, international trade, consumer markets in Japan and China, and gender issues. She joined the Institute as a research analyst in June 2018 and worked with Reginald Jones Senior Fellow Chad P. Bown on international trade policy, the US-China trade war, and trade negotiations. Prior to that, Zhang worked at the Brookings Institution and conducted research on international finance, centralized cryptocurrencies, fintech regulatory sandboxes, and monetary union in West Africa. Zhang received a master's degree in public policy from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy in 2018 and a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a minor in international affairs in 2016.
