Event Series

Since the pandemic in 2020, CEPR has run a number of online seminar series and webinars. Many of these continue to have weekly, bi-weekly or monthly sessions during term time, and where possible they are recorded or livestreamed.

CEPR also runs many annual conferences and symposia. Although some of these were organised online during the pandemic, most have now returned to their face-to-face format and are listed below.

The CEPR Virtual IO Seminar

The CEPR Virtual IO Seminar (VIOS) was created to provide an alternative to IO seminars cancelled due to travel restrictions brought on by the Coronavirus. The long-run goal, however, is to turn it into a permanent platform for sharing the benefits of regular IO seminars. Seminars are balanced between both theoretical and empirical approaches to IO.

The European Summer Symposium in Economic Theory (ESSET)

The European Summer Symposium in Economic Theory (ESSET) is one of the key annual events for economic theorists. The event is centred on "focus sessions" devoted to a particular topic, which changes every year. At least two leading theorists are invited to organise the focus sessions that represent the background themes for that year's conference. The topics chosen by the organisers represent the frontier of current research in economic theory.
